Videos of pelicans, fishing, tending their young and flying-a sight to behold. Such close sightings of them were the highlight of my trip to Senegal. I saw them while participating in a tour in Djoudj National Bird Park, a UNESCO site where there are also millions of other migratory birds (including flamingos and herons). Plus there are also mammals and crocodiles, but they are difficult to spot.
They are also on the beach around the country. But obviously not as many as in the reserve that is located in the north, near Saint Luis and the Mauritanian border.
Videos of pelicans
Pelicans are truly unique birds, funny but also majestic at the same time.
In particular, the tour consists of a boat trip, thanks to which, by going deeper into the river, there is a chance to get very close.
In conclusion, the video where you can see the island on which the chicks stay, which are the black ones. Some adults go fishing, others stay on the island to protect the chicks from attacks by crocodiles and jackals. From above, the adults, in groups, manage to keep predators at bay.
On the other hand, if any of the little ones fall, and cannot climb back up, they are doomed. They explained that crocodiles are hidden, but always ready to swoop in to take advantage of any opportunity. The other prey are the sick and old birds. Healthy specimens can defend themselves.
