This is the introductory article in a live series from Senegal. I will leave tomorrow, January 1, 2026. And I will witness my adventure by making short videos. The music in the background will always be by my friend Wodevi . Also because he was the one who somehow gave me the okay for the destination.
Why live from Senegal
I had wanted to go to Nepal, but because of unrest in the Asian country, the choice fell to another of the destinations I had assumed would be good for 10 days at this time of year.
The sixty-fourth country I will visit will also be the first in the only macro zone of the world that I had not yet explored solo.
Although Senegal is considered the safest country in sub-Saharan Africa, I think it will be quite adventurous as a trip. One reason is because I will be going alone and totally on my own, the other is because I will be traveling by public transportation. In this regard I have had very amusing anticipations.
Since there will be a series of videos, here is the one on map from my you tube channel of the route I will take.
First setback
Meanwhile, the first twist came even before I left. In the featured photo what I should take with me apart from clothing, but in fact as many as 2 essential items are forbidden to me.
Only yesterday I realized that I had purchased airline tickets with carry-on baggage only. To have that in the hold they are asking me for 177 Euro, so in theory I could not carry my 30 Euro mosquito killer or even sunscreen for the equator, because liquids in containers larger than 100 ml.
