From Dakar, I continued my journey in Senegal, going north to the ancient capital Saint-Louis. This is the third article in the live series from Senegal. I will witness my adventure by making short videos and narrating updates. I am traveling solo and completely independently, and I will travel by public transportation.
Journey to Senegal, the animals
It already seemed noteworthy to me to tell that as room neighbors in the hotel in Dakar, I had sheep. I never saw them, but they greeted me every time I went to the bathroom. I think I even woke them up one night that I went to pee.
But I had not been to Saint Luis yet. The third video from my you tube channel is taken from a beach. I thought the one in Dakar was already original.
It is the beach near the fish market. Although the sanitary conditions are poor to say the least and you have to be very careful where you step, it was one of the most enjoyable walks in my life. Chickens, sheep, horses and jubilant children greeted me, almost all of them intent on running wild.
Arrival in Saint Luis
Getting to Saint Luis was less complicated than expected. This although the departure from the Dakar bus station might impress some.
During the trip, by minivan we passed through many villages and saw many baobab trees.
The town is in a fantastic location, an island, at the mouth of the Senegal River. The featured photo also shows a soccer game between kids, as well as horses.
