On the ‘last of the spring bridges with Z I discover that no, Colmar is fairy tale-like perhaps for many, not for me. That does not take away from the fact that it deserves to be visited. So many come here for the Christmas markets that I detest. So, in my opinion, it is much better in the other seasons, with the vines filling the surrounding hills in their splendor. Absolutely you have to go to the surrounding villages as well.

By the way, this is an extremely historically important territory because it was strongly disputed by Germany and France. This link explains well the reasons for this, the details for the repercussions related to both World War I and World War II.

It always makes a certain impression on me to see how places that now seem cheerful and carefree have been theaters of apocalyptic periods.

Maybe Colmar is fairy tale-like, but I post the almost live video, of Ribeauville

Below is the video shot in Ribeauville, but I could have done the same in any of the other villages nearby, all of which are very nice.

This is the article of my travel plans for 2025 where I explain why the Z bridges. While in the following article there is more detail about this very intense trip. I went from three nations, four considering Italy, in a few days.

Short driving tour between Switzerland, France and Germany

Finally, here are all the almost live videos I have taken on various trips.

In the photo below, for those who cannot see it, I pretend to talk to a chicken, which high is but a decoration in a small square. One advantage of shooting in pairs is also being able to take silly photos.
