I shot these videosof Armenia during the last few days of my 11-day trip to the Caucasus, during which I also visited Azerbaijan and Georgia.
All of these countries of the former USSR feature structures built during the Soviet era. Take, for example, the featured photo. It shows an old carousel that is no longer in use but is still on display in a park in Dilijan.

Videos of Armenia featuring religious sites
Armenia was the first country in history to become Christian. You can see just how important this is from the many religious buildings that have withstood both Soviet rule and the passage of centuries. This link provides more information about the Armenian religion, which is Christian but not Catholic. I particularly appreciate the simplicity and sense of spirituality of the churches, which are often part of monastic complexes.
Some are in spectacular locations, such as the one below on Lake Sevan, which is also the largest lake in the country.

The capital, Yerevan, didn’t really impress me, but it’s a great starting point for exploring other places. I happened to be passing through the main square during the incumbent president’s final campaign rally; he went on to win the election the following day.
But my favorite video of Armenia is the one below. It features the so-called “Rock Symphony”: a curious basalt formation that resembles the pipes of an organ. The site is very large and is located a short distance from the Garni Temple.
