I’m dedicating this article to a specific series of videos from Singapore, all shot in a limited area and at night, when it objectively looks its best.

The incredible order in the city is also due to a very strict and severe government regime. I’ve read about some prohibitions, which I deliberately didn’t check because it’s too funny to me to think they actually exist or ever did. Online, some people claim that heavy penalties were or are imposed for the following offenses:
- Crossing the street as a pedestrian outside a crosswalk
- Throwing paper on the ground
- Eating and Drinking on the Subway
- Smoking
- Walking around naked in your own home
- Do not flush the toilet after using the restroom for bodily needs
However, we must admit that a certain decisiveness also helps bring important projects to fruition; I am referring in particular to the Gardens by the Bay.
Such a magnificent project—and it’s not even the only one—which, for a thousand reasons, wouldn’t be possible in my town, for example. Plus, this was an investment that’s good for the environment!

Video from Singapore, specifically the Gardens by the Bay
The largest area is essentially an artificial island created specifically to house the park. In addition to strolling through the lush vegetation, the most popular attraction is the Garden Rhapsody.
It’s a show with lights on fake trees; it’s a little tacky, but objectively speaking, it’s worth seeing.
But paying 10 euros to walk 120 meters suspended between two of these—no, it’s not worth it. Especially since getting up there also meant waiting in two very long lines.
This video was taken as I was heading back to the hotel, and you can clearly see the river and the Marina Bay Sands skyscraper.
