That of seeing Mount Ararat was one of the inescapable goals of my trip to the Caucasus.
Mount Ararat is just the famous one in the Bible, and where Noah would have leaned with his ark.
This live video from Armenia is the last I publish from my solo trip to the three countries in the Caucasus territory between Europe (Russia) and Asia (Iran). I arrived in Armenia by public bus from Georgia; from here I will return to Italy.
During this trip I posted videos, but adding little. Calmly, once home, I will tell the anecdotes in more detail.
Seeing Mount Ararat from Armenia
Seeing Mount Ararat would not seem difficult given its size, the fact that it is often whitewashed, and its proximity to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Actually it is not, because it is often shrouded in clouds, so in the following video and especially in the featured photo, you can see how lucky I was.
To get closer, I participated in a day tour, which I will tell you about later.
The tour wasn’t just about seeing Mount Ararat. It was an opportunity to visit some very interesting places, such as the Garni Temple and the Gherard Monastery. I have to say, though, that unlike Baku and Tbilisi, Yerevan didn’t really impress me, even though I had a good time there.
