The fourth almost live video from the Turkey trip is from Ephesus. I am on a 10-day trip, solo and using public transportation, that is, the kind I prefer.
But on trips of this kind sometimes when you are on the ground you find that everything cannot go as budgeted and you have to be ready for both plan b and c.
I had chosen Izmir, which used to be called Izmir (featured photo of the waterfront at sunset), as my base for visiting Ephesus and Pergamum. These are two important archaeological sites.
But the 3-hour bus ride to the hotel from the station made me give up on Pergamum.
On my maps here is where I am and the route taken since my arrival in Turkey.

The most famous monument in Ephesus is the incredible library, but it was also fun to run into a Zimbabwean choir singing in front of the grand theater.
I wonder if the Hellenistic King Lysimachus, who had it built, would have ever imagined it.
Here is the video from my you tube channel.
