When I had planned the trip, I certainly had not thought about the fires in Canada. I knew there had been, even in the area where I would be, but I had not imagined that I would see the effects.
This is the third video from Canada, still in one of the Rocky Mountain wilderness parks. After the one in Banff, I am now in Jasper, even further north.
I am on an 18-day, solo trip, using public transportation and alternating between cities and nature, that is, the kind I prefer.
On my maps here is where I am and the route taken.
Video of Canada’s wildfires, mix of beauty and sadness
It is ascertained that I will return home without having seen or been chased, or chewed by a bear. In Banff I have always been in areas far too crowded. Only one morning in fact for miles was I the only human, and following a tip I had read, I started singing. Bears have good taste, and they ran away.
Instead in Jasper, they left last year because of a tremendous fire.
I think it is difficult to put so much beauty and so much sadness in one video. You see glaciers, endless forests, rushing rivers and lakes of unreal color. But also whole mountains full of burned trees.
Here is the video from my you tube channel.
Below are the other videos from Canada
